May 9, 2025

Texas MedClinic Urgent Care is now open in East Texas. The long-established Texas-based urgent care provider added four new urgent care clinics on April 24, 2025 in facilities previously operated by Urgent Doc. The new Texas MedClinic Urgent Care clinics are in Livingston, Lufkin, Nacogdoches and New Caney at the following addresses:
- Livingston: 1615 W. Church St., #100, Livingston, TX 77351
- Lufkin: 2132 S. First St., Suite A, Lufkin, TX 75901
- Nacogdoches: 4909 North St. Suite 202, Nacogdoches, TX 75965
- New Caney: 20304 US-59, Unit D, New Caney, TX 77357
Texas MedClinic will maintain the same operating hours as the previous clinics, Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and weekends, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Each of the four clinics offers urgent care and occupational health services and provides patients the convenience of online booking or walk-in care.
Jim Ashby, chief executive officer of Texas MedClinic, commented, “We are excited for the opportunity to serve more communities in East Texas. Urgent care plays an increasingly vital role in healthcare, offering a crucial option for individuals needing timely medical attention for non-life-threatening conditions. We are thrilled to help East Texans access the care they need, when they need it.”
Texas MedClinic worked closely with Urgent Doc founder, Dr. Michael Iverson, to facilitate his retirement from the practice and create a seamless transition and less disruption for patients.
“We were pleased to offer positions to the existing clinic staff, and the majority have joined our Texas MedClinic family,” said Ashby. “Their experience and dedication are a valuable addition to our culture, and we believe patients will appreciate continuing to be seen by these familiar faces.”
Dr. Iversen, owner of Urgent Doc, stated, “It was important to us to ensure a smooth transition of care for our patients in Livingston, Lufkin, Nacogdoches and New Caney. We are pleased that Texas MedClinic, a reputable and established provider, has stepped in to continue serving the urgent care needs of these communities, and we wish them all the best.”
Similar to other Texas MedClinic locations, the new East Texas clinics will offer treatment for a wide array of medical issues, including upper respiratory infections, sprains, strains, sinus infections and minor fractures. Additionally, through their occupational health services, they will serve area employers by providing treatment for work injuries, physicals and various types of testing. Each urgent care clinic is also equipped with diagnostic tools such as X-ray and EKG and can provide on-site testing for flu, COVID-19, RSV, strep and pregnancy.
