Texas MedClinic Has Expanded in East Texas
May 21, 2025

Texas MedClinic Urgent Care has expanded in East Texas. On May 12, 2025, the company opened two new clinics north of Houston, located at 17002 Gleneagle Dr. S. in Conroe, TX, and 25118 Grogans Mill Rd. in Spring, TX, in buildings that previously housed Doctors Urgent Care clinics.
Texas MedClinic to Ensure Quality Urgent Care Coverage in Conroe and Spring/Woodlands
Bobbie Kumar, M.D., a partner in Doctors Urgent Care, said, “It’s been our honor to serve Conroe and Spring/Woodlands for the past eight years. When we decided to close, we wanted to ensure that our patients would still be able to access urgent care of the highest quality. We chose to work with Texas MedClinic because their 40 years of experience providing medical care to Texans, their compassion for patients and their professionalism made them stand out as the best fit for these communities.”
Dr. Kumar worked closely with a Texas MedClinic team led by CEO Jim Ashby to reduce downtime during the transition. Texas MedClinic opened its doors on May 12, 2025, just one week after Doctors closed.
“We couldn’t be happier to have had the opportunity to work with Dr. Kumar and her partners,” said Ashby. “It was a bit serendipitous, as we were already in the process of opening four locations in East Texas. We opened those locations at the end of April, so it’s an exciting time for us. We look forward to providing all six communities our outstanding signature care.”
New Name, Familiar Faces
Ashby added that patients will be happy to hear they’ll continue to see familiar faces when they visit the newly rebranded clinics.
“We’ve been fortunate that most of the providers and staff of Doctors Urgent Care have accepted our offers to join Texas MedClinic,” he said. “Since the beginning of our talks with Dr. Kumar, the staff’s friendliness and skillfulness have stood out. We’re so glad they’ve chosen to join our team and continue serving their patients.”
Clinics Offer Extensive Services to Bridge Gap Between Emergency and Primary Care
Like other Texas MedClinic Urgent Care clinics in the state, the Conroe and Spring/Woodlands clinics provide care for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries. Filling an important niche between emergency rooms and primary care providers, urgent care treats a wide variety of conditions including minor fractures and lacerations, upper respiratory infections and allergies. With diagnostic tools such as X-ray and EKG on-site, they also have extensive testing capabilities such as rapid testing for flu, COVID-19, RSV, strep and pregnancy.
Texas MedClinic is also offering occupational health services at the two clinics, expanding its network of locations serving employers’ needs. The company provides a wide range of such services, including DOT and non-DOT physicals, drug and alcohol screening, audiograms and work-related injury management.
Texas MedClinic Urgent Care accepts patients on a walk-in basis and offers the convenience of online booking. Both the Conroe and Spring/Woodlands clinics are open seven days a week with operating hours of 8 a.m.–8 p.m. Monday–Friday and 10 a.m.– 5 p.m. on weekends.
