Texas MedClinic COO Dr. David Gude receives San Antonio Business Journal’s 2018 Health Care Hero award
June 11, 2018
David Gude, M.D. has called Texas MedClinic his home-away-from-home for over 32 years, providing healing and insight to thousands of patients, as well as teaching and guiding hundreds of physicians and staff.
The San Antonio Business Journal bestowed Gude with the San Antonio Health Care Hero Award at the Pearl Stable on May 24, along with 23 physicians and health care administrators who’s compassion and innovation continue to serve and heal San Antonians, providing for one of the most robust, state-of-the-art health care climates in Texas.
“I am honored to receive the award, but I do not work alone in any single endeavor at Texas MedClinic, either as a clinician or as an administrator,” said Gude. “My work is always dependent on the work of others. I am proud to be part of an organization that has defined Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine in San Antonio and surrounding communities for the past 36 years.”
One of Gude’s guiding principles in medicine is establishing a therapeutic relationship with patients, even within the limited time he has with them in the urgent care setting.
“As physicians, we are privileged to gain insight into our patient’s lives; they trust us with information they do not share with those closest to them, and we have an opportunity to make a difference,” said Gude.
