Texas MedClinic to Add Nurse Practitioners to Staff Beginning 8/3!

On Wednesday, August 3rd, Texas MedClinic will begin staffing nurse practitioners in their clinics across Central Texas.
If case you aren’t familiar with them, a nurse practitioner is a registered nurse who has an advanced degree in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients, including national certification and specializations in areas such as pediatrics, geriatrics, family practice, mental health and women’s health. A nurse practitioner can perform examinations, treat patients and prescribe medications. They can serve as Primary Care Providers (PCPs) and their fees are covered by most private insurance plans, as well as Medicare and Medicaid.
When it comes to your health, a nurse practitioner can provide the many of the same services as a physician. They can cover primary care issues, preventative care for all ages, mental health treatment and counseling, education and wellness promotion, and refer you to a specialist, if needed. They can also prescribe treatment and medications. Texas law says they have prescriptive authority through written agreements with collaborating physicians.
Texas MedClinic is eager to add nurse practitioners to our staff, because we know they will support our efforts to maintain the highest standard of care and encourage good health to all of our patients.
Right now, there are several job listings for nurse practitioners with emergency room, urgent care or occupational experience at Texas MedClinic. All qualified nurse practitioners will need to have at least 3 years of experience and will be working alongside our physicians for the first 6 months of employment. In addition, Texas MedClinic will provide additional training each week to incorporate these new positions into our current model of care.
